Today, you will learn a common solution for an iPhone problem when you forget your passcode. Many people tend to forget their passcode after some time of using their device. Here are the steps to do and the things you need to bring your iPhone to life again. One thing you must put in mind, your iPhone will be completely erased after the process, pictures, images, contacts will be erased, making it fresh like you bought it from the store.
Things you need for the process:
- You need to download iTunes on a PC or Mac
- iPad or iPhone charging cable, it could be a lightning cable or a 30-pin cable.
- You will also need a little time for the process because it may take you 1 to 3 hours depending on your internet connection.
Step 1: If you have already downloaded iTunes, open iTunes from your Pc or Mac.
Step 2: Turn off your iPhone by pressing the power button for 3 seconds and a “slide to power off” will appear. Simply slide the white button to the right to turn off the phone.
Step 3: You need to plug your iPhone charging cable to the USB port on your Mac or PC, the USB end of the charging cable goes into the USB port of the computer.
Step 4: Hold and press the home button of your iPhone, while doing that plug in the charging cable into your iPhone and once you see the Apple logo appear on your phone and while still holding the home button, the Apple logo will change into the iTunes logo. You can release the home button after seeing the iTunes logo.
Step 5: A prompt will appear and you will need to click “restore”, after clicking restore, a second prompt will appear and you need to click “restore and update” and the latest software will be downloaded on your iPhone. You just have to wait an hour or so for the process to finish, it depends on how fast your internet connection is for the process.
After the software is downloaded, it will begin installation for the iPhone, it will take around 30 minutes and the iPhone will restart multiple times through the process. When done with the installation, a white screen will appear saying “Hello” and your iPhone is as fresh as a newly bought device.
Remember not to forget your passcode again in the future because you will need to do the process again. Always try to ‘back-up’ your files on a PC or Mac from your iPhone so you won’t lose precious files on your device.
